The members of the Parks and Recreation Committee of the Village of Brandon, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin met in the Village Hall Board Room on Wednesday, March 23, 2011.
Committee Chair Richard Roeming called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. and presided. Committee Member Pamela Sauer recorded the proceedings of the meeting.
The following Committee Members were present: Director of Public Works Vance Henning, Trustee Pamela Sauer, Harold TeBeest, Trustee David Tarr, Beth Smit and President Rick Peterson.
The following was present in the audience: Jeff Henker representing the Laconia Little League.
Chair Roeming read the proceedings of the November 3, 2010 meeting.
Discussion was held concerning the recognition at the ball diamond for Aaron Gerrits. Chair Roeming reported that he spoke with Charlotte Mahone and asked if she and her group had decided how they would like to honor Aaron. They have decided to do something that will not be placed in the park.
All committee members agree that a storage facility near the ball diamonds would be a great asset to the Village.
Director of Public Works Vance Henning had information on the digging of the north waterway in the Community Park. The Village Board, at their March regular meeting, approved the funding of the permits with a limit of $3,500.00 to be financed from the Parks Improvements designated account. Public Works Director Henning believes that the digging should cost no more than $6,900.00
Motion made by Harold TeBeest/David Tarr, passed on a voice vote, the Committee recommends that the Village Board approve the cleaning of the north waterway in the Community Park with the financing to come from the Park Improvements designated account.
Public Works Director Henning gave an update on the Veterans Memorial. The committee needs to gather more information. The committee as of March 23rd includes Vance Henning, Richard Roeming, Jim Otto and Pamela Sauer.
No other business came before the Committee.
On a motion by David Tarr/Pamela Sauer, passed on a voice vote, the Committee adjourned.
