On a motion by Trustees Sauer/Tarr, passed on a voice vote, the Board approved the minutes of the February 13, 2012 regular meeting.

The Wisconsin Public Service Commission’s Simplified Rate Increase was discussed.  This is a simplified way to have a small increase in the water rates.  The new rate that has been set by the PSC is 3.2%.

On a motion by Trustees Henker/Sauer, carried on a roll call vote, the Board approved applying for the Simplified Rate Increase.

Director of Public Works Vance Henning reported that one of the lift pumps at the sewer plant is in need of repair.  It needs new bearings and wear rings added.  The minimum cost of a new pump would be $20,000.00.  Director Henning obtained three bids.

They are as follows:

1.     J. F. Ahern - $4,200.00 with a down time of three months.

2.     Zabel  - $3,200.00 with no down time specified.

3.     L. W. Allen - $3,658.00 with a down time of 1 week to 10 days.

All bids include Village personnel assisting with removal and reinstallation.

On a motion by Trustees Tarr/Walgenbach, carried on a roll call vote, the Board gave permission to the Department of Public Works Director to reconfirm the bids and hire the firm with the best bid at a cost not to exceed $4,000.00

No other business came before the Board.  On a motion by Trustees Sauer/Henker, passed on a voice vote, the Board adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
