Monthly Board Meeting Minutes
Monday, August 19, 2013
Trustees of the Village of Brandon, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin met in the Village of Brandon Board Room on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 7:46 p.m.
President Steve Tetzlaff called the meeting to order and presided. Village Clerk Corinne Vande Zande recorded the minutes of the meeting.
The following trustees were present: Diane Horvath, Annette Henker, Carole DeCramer, Kurt Krohn and Michael Walgenbach.
The following were present in the audience: Library Director Christy Ross (left 8:03 p.m.); Library Board President, Kevin DeCramer (left 8:03 p.m.); Public Works Director Vance Henning; Kevin Wilson and Andy from Gremmer & Associates.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all those present.
On a motion by Trustees Krohn/Horvath, unanimously carried on a roll call vote, the Board approved the August 2013 payments as attached.
On a motion by Trustees DeCramer/Tetzlaff, unanimously passed on a voice vote, the Board approved the minutes of the July 8, 2013 monthly meeting.
Library Director, Christina Ross, gave her monthly report.
Library Board President, Kevin DeCramer, reported the Library received a $2000 grant from Target for their 1000 books before Kindergarten program. He also noted he is willing to help the Village with any future grant writing.
President Tetzlaff reported the State Act 20 bill was signed by Governor Walker on July 2, 2013; therefore the Village will no longer be able to extend levy limits to cover certain fees.
Andy from Gremmer & Associates briefly discussed the Wilson & Lonnee project. Gremmer has made the necessary corrections to the Certified Survey Map as suggested by Village Attorney, Lud Wurtz . On a motion by Trustees DeCramer/Walgenbach, unanimously carried on a roll call vote, the Board approved the Certified Survey Map contingent upon the Zoning Board of Appeals approving the proposed variances as well as the Village Attorney approving the language for the shared driveway deed restriction.
The Board discussed deductible options as provided by Nolan Insurance Company. On a motion by Trustees Krohn/Henker, unanimously carried on a roll call vote, the Board approved increasing the property deductible to $10,000.
President Tetzlaff discussed retrieving footage from the park security cameras. Because of the size of the files, downloading footage from the office would take hours. The Department of Public Works laptop must be upgraded from Windows XP in order to retrieve security footage. Clerk to set up a training day with Accu-Com for the Village employees. Trustee Walgenbach to meet with Vance to look at options for installing a separate breaker box for park cameras.
No other business came before the Board. On a motion by DeCramer/Henker, unanimously passed on a voice vote, the Board adjourned at 9:35 p.m.
