Monthly Board Meeting Minutes
Monday, February 10, 2014
Trustees of the Village of Brandon, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin met in the Village of Brandon Board Room on Monday, February 10, 2014 at 7:40 p.m.
President Steve Tetzlaff called the meeting to order and presided. Village Clerk Vande Zande recorded the minutes of the meeting.
The following trustees were present: Diane Horvath, Mike Walgenbach, Carole DeCramer, Dave Tarr and Kurt Krohn.
The following were present in the audience: Police Chief, Tom Dornbrook (left 8:28 pm); Library Director, Christy Ross (left 8:23 pm).
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all those present.
On a motion by Trustees DeCramer/Walgenbach, unanimously carried on a roll call vote, the Board approved the February 2014 payments as attached.
On a motion by Trustees DeCramer/Tarr, unanimously carried on a voice call vote, the Board approved the Village of Brandon financials as of February 10, 2014.
On a motion by Trustees Tarr/Horvath, unanimously passed on a voice vote, the Board approved the minutes from January 13, 2014 to include the Caucus, monthly meeting and closed session minutes with one addition to the closed session minutes.
Library Board Director, Christy Ross, gave her monthly report to include the following items: working with Mr. Baker from the Cirrus Charter School on Lego projects; Library was opened on non-school days and had many people use the Library; 2013 circulation increase was the highest in the area.
Police Chief, Tom Dornbrook, gave his monthly report on the following items: update of Police Dept computers; discussion of dog ordinance.
Trustee Horvath reported the Fire Department is still looking at the purchase of a new fire truck. They expect to have cost estimates soon.
Trustee Krohn reported he was recently at a Little League meeting. They are looking to put new bases on the North and South diamonds. They are also looking at possibly selling alcohol in the future. Trustee DeCramer will call a Parks & Recreation committee meeting before next month to discuss these items.
Trustee Tarr reported a Personnel Committee meeting was held last week. The personnel conflict appears to be resolved.
There is some concern over who gets notified when there is a committee meeting. The Board agreed the entire Board will receive a copy of committee meeting agendas via email.
8:49 pm: Motion by Tarr/Horvath, unanimously carried on roll call (6-ayes, 0-nays), to move to closed session per Wisconsin State Statute 19.85(1)(c) Consideration of employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee subject to the jurisdiction or authority of governing employee who is being considered. (Re: employee compensation)
10:01 pm: Motion made in closed session by Tarr/DeCramer, unanimously carried on roll call (6-ayes, 0-nayes) to adjourn.
